Three Family Rides

All Rides begin near the Port of Clarkston Offices

Join families for a fall cruise along the Snake River to Asotin. We’ll start at the Port of Clarkston Offices, ride behind Quality Inn, through the Corps of Engineers Parking Lot, take the GreenBelt Trail for a mile to Beachview Park. From there the trail takes us along the river and through Swallows Nest Park and all the way  to Chief Looking Glass Park in Asotin. Because this is an out-and-back route, you may turn around at any point. The Corps has carefully marked distances along the trail so you may better adjust your total distance. Bike Paths are often busy and confusing since many trail users do not understand the rules. Please view this video about trail riding.

This ride starts the same as the other two but turns around at picnic gazebo at the bottom of 22nd avenue just in the parking lot for the children’s playground.

This actually gives you only 6.1 miles. Ride up to the Swallows Next Boat Launch, loop the parking lot and return, for closer to the 7.

New for 2015 is the 25 miler taking riders on a popular local route to the end of the pavement on Asotin Creek Road. It starts the same as the first two rides but leaves the trail at Chief Looking Glass Park in Asotin where there will be a rest stop. For the next 11 miles, riders are on public streets and roads. Exercise due caution. We turn up Fillmore between the market and the court house, turn right on 2nd, cxross the bridge and turn left on Asotin Creek Road. In about 2.5 miles the road forks. Stay to the right for another 2.5 miles to the end of the pavement. The road is not heavily trafficked but it does have a blind corner or two. Locals ride this route frequently. It has a modest climb and nice descending return.

You may back track to the rest stop in Asotin or just take the road back out to 129, where you can cross to the bike path. The route back simply reverses the ride out to Asotin.
