The Palouse is famous for its rolling hills. And century riders will see some of them, but they won’t compare to the climb out of Kendrick. It looks tough; it is tough. But any reasonably fit cyclist ready to ride 100 miles in a day, should be able to handle this climb.

Before the road rises, take a swig from your bottle, consciously relax your body, and maybe even slow down. When you start out tense, you’ll feel worse on the way up. If it’s hot, unzip your jersey a bit.
